The Port Townsend Ukulele Festival and Workshop is held at Fort Worden State Park, a venue unparalleled in beauty and facility. Expect four nights and three days of intense fun, ukulele instruction, and merry music making with some of the finest ukulele instructors and players working today.

Registration will be limited to 125 people, ensuring small classes and an intimate atmosphere. The workshop offerings will feature a wide variety of styles – jazz, blues, swing, Hawaiian, pop, novelty, and jugband ukulele, at the least. Specific classes will include chords, melody, improvisation, playing up the neck, performing tips, and “one-off” workshops during the Serendipity Hour. Final detailed class descriptions will be posted on the class description page. The evenings feature plenty of faculty-led jams, a highlight for many.

The Julian Familiy Fiddle Camp (JFFC) is a five-day music immersion program for people of all ages and musical abilities.  JFFC is held each April at the rural family retreat center near the historic mining town of Julian, CA.  All meals, instruction,, camp-based activities (swimming, archery, climbing tower) and evening concerts are provided for a single fee. This year's instruments will be Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Vocals, AND 'Ukulele! This camp is for ALL ages.

The JFFC experience is a celebration of life.  It is as educational as it is social.  Lifelong friendships often begin here, with many people returning year after year to enjoy a very special break from their usual day-to-day routine.

March 17-21, Carig Chee and Sarah Maisel will join Lono and the Molokai community teaching Old Style Hawaiian Song traditions and Ukulele techniques. Spend 5 intimate days on the Spirit Isle experiencing the roots of what has inspired generations of Hawaiians to create beautiful music… Walk the land, swim in the waters, eat traditional foods, learn the language, talk story, dance hula and most of all play LOTS of happy Ukulele music! 

The Uke Ohana workshop will be located on the  lush and tropical East end of the island. There you will relax, moving at a slower pace, and learn to play & compose traditional & contemporary Hawaiian folk music of your own.

We will be staying at Pu’u O Hoku (“Hill of Stars”) a historical 14,000 acre working ranch. We will feast on traditional gourmet foods harvested by the local community and venture on foot into the nearby Halawa Valley with its ancient Taro fields, twin waterfalls and warm beaches.  Arrangement can be made for you to stay at the Ranch after the workshop.  A day long festival celebrating the ukulele, as well as other stringed instruments, and the people who create music with them, encouraging a true sense of community among musicians, participants and audience. Beginning and skill-enhancement workshops will be offered throughout the day at the beautiful Kitsap Conference Center, culminating with a concert at the Admiral Theatre in the evening.  

One Ticket Will Cover the Entire Event!

There will be three ticket levels for the Festival which includes the  Evening Program at the Admiral Theatre, plus a full day of ukulele workshops in the Kitsap Conference Center.


The Festival will be located in downtown Bremerton, WA, a short walk from the WA State Ferry terminal with easy walk-on access from Seattle.
In addition to the evening concert at the Admiral Theatre and workshops throughout the day at the Kitsap Conference Center, there will be many events taking place all around town in the week leading up to the Festival. Performers include  Brittni Paiva, Del Rey and Craig Chee/Sarah Maisel.

The Ukulele Road Show promises a fresh take on the ukulele in the hands of lovers and friends from the modern uke milieu. Three top duos from the mighty uke craze will bring The Ukulele Road Show to the stage to five select venues in the Pacific Northwest from September 9-16, 2016. The Ukulele Road Show features duet and sextet performances of contemporary, traditional and original folk, jazz and pop arranged for ukulele by Oregon “folkstitution” minstrels, Kate Power & Steve Einhorn, Columbia Gorge uke-builders, teachers and globe-trotting performers, The Quiet American, and southern California uke pop stars, Craig Chee & Sarah Maisel.

The Ukulele Road Show is an uplifting musical revue with a fresh take on the tiny instrument whose signature sound has attracted the ears, hands and hearts of listeners and players worldwide. ‘Ukulele Boot Camp 101- (Confident Beginner to Advanced)

High G tuning recommended. Craig’s most popular workshop! Craig’s ever adapting Boot Camp will dive into a ton of exercises that will help strengthen and quicken your fingers as well as focus on your tone. Craig will show how these exercises are applied to intermediate and even advanced techniques to take you to the next level! Confident beginners to intermediates will have lots to chew on as there are many variations for all levels. There will be a follow up video that will be created to go over the important elements as well as expand on some of the ideas brought up during the workshop.

Intro to Jazz 'Ukulele (Confident Beginner to Advanced)

Have you ever wanted to try out some of those Jazz songs and been intimidated by the chords? Look no further, Sarah will show you a variety of progressions and chord shapes that will show you how attainable Standards can be on the 'ukulele. By the end of the class, you'll be ready to tackle some of those songs you've always wanted. It is recommended that the students be familiar with basic chords to get the most out of this class. There will be follow up handouts for this class.
